Easter Decorations, Ideas and Treats

Decorate your table for Easter, enjoy delicious Easter treats, and celebrate the beginning of Spring . Here are some of my favorite finds for this special holiday.

 

An Egg-A-Labra from Pottern Barn. A wooden urn with curving metal arms with nine wooden cups that can hold Easter eggs or votive candles.Bunny and Chick shaped candles add some fun decor elements , both from Pottery Barn.

Custom Fondant  Cup Cake Toppers from Two Sugar Babies.

Godiva Chocolate Easter Collection. A  beaded, egg-shaped keepsake box filled with a  foil-wrapped chocolate eggs. An Easter carrot filled with orange-colored chocolate pearls and of course our favorite , Bertie the Milk Chocolate Bunny.

Sprinkle’s infamous cupcakes  HOP Easter box. They consist of  dark chocolate, red velvet, brown sugar praline and carrot cupcakes adorned with pink and green bunnies.

Of course, the fabulous Martha Stewart with DIY Easter projects. Set fresh spring flowers in egg cups and ideas for hand painted Easter eggs. Her website had 1001 ideas for Easter decor.

Anyone flying to London, visit the famous Harrods Department store and pick up an Easter Egg Hunt jar filled with milk chocolate eggs or the iced chick biscuit in their gourmet food and wine department. Now this is what we call luxury treats.

A Strawberry Cocktail for your Valentine

What a great recipe  for Valentine’ s Day. a Strawberry Basil Martini found in the  Sun Sentinel Good eating section ( February 3, 2011 ).

Jason Katsoulis, lead bartender  at 3030 Ocean at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale co- created this drink with Nicole Jackson, restaurant and bar manager.

Recipe : Strawberry Basil Martini

3 large, fresh basil leaves

4 large, fresh, ripe strawberries

3/4 ounce simple syrup (1 part sugar to 1 part of water, simmered until sugar is dissolved and then cooled)

3 ounces premium vodka

1 strawberry for garnish

In a large shaker or heavy glass, place the basil, 4 strawberries and simple syrup. With a muddler or large wooden spoon, mash the mixture together until there are no large chunks of strawberry left. Add ice and vodka; cover and shake for about 20 seconds. Using a strainer, pour the martini into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a strawberry.

Makes 1 martini.

Valentine’s Day. Sweet Gifts for Everyone.

Valentines Day is the time of the year  that we acknowledge  warm and loving relationship with our friends, parents and special ones. Valentine’s Day is the premier occasion for giving gifts.  Bouquet of red roses and chocolates are  always the all time favorites.

I personally love chocolate’s and sweet treats. Here are some of my favorites  for  Valentines Day.

Godiva Chocolate have a rich luxurious chocolate collections which are always so beautifully  presented. I love their chocolate hearts in the Valentines Day collection.

My favorite cupcake shoppe Cupcake Couture Sweet Boutique in Delray Beach , Florida have launched their Valentines Day cupcake collection. Going to the store is a treat.

Cookies by Design offer delicious assortment of hand made Valentines Day cookies. They offer a variety of valentine day cookie gifts.

And of course our favorite, Hershey Kisses from Hershey’s.  Package them in a  Valentines Day inspired container , box or gift bag from your local craft  store . They are always a winner and enjoyed by everyone.
